This little guy is named Shelmi.
He was officially born yesterday! He is being adopted by Kagan and will love his new home. He's so EXCITED to meet him, his tail wagged non-stop. Imagine that!

Shelmi goes to work at the Ottawa Blues Festival - what a treat!

Shelmi shows off his talents... maybe he can be a circus turtle when he grows up..

OOOff.. too much work for a little baby, Time for a rest!

Turtle for Kaegen

Well, I've started the turtle for my new nephew. It's a challenge because I don't really know how to crochet and I"m sort of 'going with the flow' on the pattern. I've looked at a few pictures of cute amigurumi and I'm piecing it together.
I made the first red shell and didn't like it. I was really put out but the book Amigurumi World has a tiny turtle in there with a red shell so I tried it out. In the end, I scrapped the first shell and re-crocheted it into something a bit more 'turtle-shell' like. If you look at the original picture, it looks more like a conch shell than a turtle shell.

SCRAPPED:

Original 'shell' above was scrapped yesterday. See new 'shell' below:

Next step: body .... head, legs, tail..
