Comforter #2 - Entrelac in Double size

This is one of my old projects, knit in Wendy's Pampas. Natural and olive colors. Super bulky weight. size 17 US needles. Very soft and a lot of fun to knit.
I actually got this yarn at one of the yarn sales in the basement of a church. I actually knew the lady who was selling it and the yarn 'called out' to my best friend who was such a sport in going there with me.
I think this took me about a month to knit.
Should I put a border around it? what do you think? let me know.

Comforter #1: Green Meadows in king size

This is also an old project, I believe from 2007. I had gone one a 'green' binge and bought loads of yarn that was on sale, roughly $5.00 a ball, and stocked my yarn stash. Finally, I decided to knit all my fancy yarns into one large comforter. This is my first comforter and it's king size!
There are possibly 10 different types of yarn in it and loads of balls used. I will try to find the labels and update this post so you know what it is that I used to create this masterpiece.
The great thing about this is that it's very warm but light.

Scarves & Stoles

All of these were knit in 2007. Again, I will have to see if I still have the labels and update this post to let you know what I used to achieve this effect.

Cardigan : Cables in Aran

This is a great sweater that I knit in aran. The cables were really fun to knit and it gave such a feeling of accomplishment when I finally finished it. I will update this shortly for yarn type, pattern, etc.

Bolero in Amethyst

Well, this piece was my first designer knit. I wanted to make a bolero using yarn that I had in my stash. It was quite an eye opening in learning how to measure and knit my project. I learned that ripping parts out and re-doing it was not so bad.
I will update this soon for yarn, needle size, etc. I think this project, knit in 2007, took me 3 weeks.

Baby Knits: Bear Blanket, Jacket + Hat

Now here's a fun project. Baby blanket, baby hat, and baby jacket. I'm not fond of knitting with this type of yarn. You can't really tell but the ears and tummy on the bear is actually standing up or 'sticks out'.
This is a first time project in knitting baby things and using this type of yarn. As you can see, I'm not the best at it and the finished project hasn't been blocked. I guess that would be the next step.
Will update this soon for type of yarn used, gauge, etc.

Purse: Lily with beading

Ok so this is the bag that I knit when I was part of a Stitch'N Bitch group in Toronto. We all knit from the same pattern but I had to change mine up a bit. I put a side pocket that I measure to fit my calculator and I put a small a pattern in front with gold beads. This whole things was then felted which then taught me that felting with small beads knit into the piece is not a good thing to do. I haven't put in the inner lining yet.
The pattern called for a I-cord but I decided that a flat band for the handle would be better. It's just a personal preference. I'll update this for yarn type and needle size soon.

Scarf: Pink Eyelash with novelty yarn embedded

This was a special scarf that I knit for my neice one Christmas. I believe it was in 2007. Generally speaking, it takes 3 balls of yarn to make a decent length scarf. I really like this scarf not just for the vibrant colors but also because of the novelty yarn I mixed it with.
I'm not sure if I still have the label for this year but will check it out and update this post. I believe I used a ladder pattern for this scarf.

Toys: Fixit the Tradesman and his cat, Leaki

This is my fun project. Fixit, from Jean Greenhouse's booklet of Tradesmen Clowns. He was a lot of fun to make and took me approximately 3 weeks. If there are any knitters out there like me, I used yarn that wasn't really the same gauge as what was called for in the pattern. Materials are 100% cotton and from different companys such as Rowan, Estelle, Schoeller Stahl, and Bernat yarns. DK weights.
At first, I had a feeling that he was turning into a Leprechaun because of his green hat but with all the accessories, he does look like he's fixin' something.
I bought a lot of yarn balls during the boxing week special. The 'odd ball' bin was 50% off, so with yarn that was already reduced - it was a STEAL! Some balls only cost me $1.00
I will knit a few more clowns and dolls so he won't be lonely. For now, I've moved onto my February project: a shawl to die for! Alafoss Lopi in varigated blue, bulky weight. Pattern from the book Ponchos Wraps - a knitter's dozen.
